Which is better, water-cooled air compressor or air-cooled air compressor?

The cooling mode of air compressor generally includes water-cooled type and air-cooled type. It's hard to say which of these two methods is better or worse. It can only be said that it depends on what environment it is used in.

Water cooled cooling mode is to use the fluidity and temperature difference of cooling water to keep the temperature of air compressor equipment within a certain range. Its advantages and disadvantages are as follows:


advantage:

1. Because the cooling water has a certain cleaning effect, it can clean the inside of the equipment when it flows inside the air compressor. It helps to prolong the servicing and cleaning cycle of the equipment and improve the quality of compressed gas;

2. The water cooler has good adaptability to climate change. Increasing or reducing the water pressure can adapt to the strong change of temperature;

3. In dusty environment, such as textile, spraying, carbon black, titanium dioxide and other industries, water coolers are more reliable;

4. The oil side of the cooler of the water cooler is easy to clean, but the air cooler can't.


Disadvantages:

1. Limited by water resources, the scope of application is relatively narrow;

2. The cooling water may contain calcium and magnesium plasma, which are easy to react due to high temperature in the cooler and form scale in the cooler, thus affecting the cooling efficiency of the cooler.

The air-cooled cooling method is to use the fluidity of air to take away heat, so as to keep the air compressor in a suitable temperature range all the time. Its advantages and disadvantages are as follows:


advantage:

The great advantage of air-cooled cooling is that it is not affected by environmental factors and can be used in almost any area.


Disadvantages:

1. If the surrounding air quality is poor, it is easy to pollute the whole air compressor and compressed air. Therefore, in order to avoid such a situation, it is recommended to load the filtering equipment;

2. If it is used in an enclosed space, it is recommended to install air inlet and exhaust equipment;

3. The cooling effect and quality are not as good as those of water-cooled type.


If it is not in the environment with special water shortage, it is recommended to choose water-cooled type. Because the air-cooled type has simple structure and less investment, but due to limited conditions and poor heat dissipation effect, it is mostly used for small air compressors. Although the water-cooled type has complex structure and high technical requirements, it has remarkable heat dissipation effect, easy adjustment and reliable operation. Therefore, large and medium-sized air compressors use water-cooled type.
